Learn the truth of what happened to Rod Serling's Twilight Zone Movies. The
writer tried to make a Twilight Zone movie, and it never happened during his
lifetime -- but some of those scripts got produced, one way or another. The

DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE TRAILER REVIEW | WILL DEADPOOL 3 SAVE THE MCU OR
FINISH IT OFF?:
Deadpool 3, or Deadpool and Wolverine as it seems they're calling it now,
represents the last chance for Marvel in my opinion. Will Deadpool and
Wolverine be the Marvel Messiah, rescuing the MCU from ruin, or will it
simply be the final nail in the coffin for this abused and degraded
franchise/ finishing it off forever? Here is my Deadpool 3 Trailer Review

NO *SCRIPT*!? ALAS POOR MCU!:
Disney's mismanagement of Marvel has driven the MCU to the brink of total
ruin, and Captain America 4 is a prime example of why. A source has come
forward with more shocking information about how the reshoots are
floundering, and a surprising allegation that makes even shooting random
action scenes seem positively ABSURD! Here's the latest rumors from our
source inside Marvel! #disney #marvel #mcu

WHY THE 'HE GETS US' SUPER BOWL AD IS *NOT* OFFENSIVE:
The most controversial ad of Super Bowl LVIII was a spot from a group called
"He Gets Us." The ad featured depictions of Christians washing the feet of a
diverse group of people, including a woman in front of an abortion clinic,
an illegal immigrant, and a gay man. Many conservative Christians were
outraged at this allegedly woke message, which they believe suggests that
followers of Jesus are "oppressors" who should accept sinful behavior. But
Glenn has a different take. He believes the ad could have been done better.
But he WASN'T offended by the ad, and in this clip, he explains why.

MADAME WEB REVIEWS *NUKE* MARVEL FLOP - WORST *EVER* CLAIM CRITICS - Disparu:
Madame Web reviews are out from critics and the next Marvel MCU movie has
arrived. Set as a standalone movie from the Spiderman Spiderverse, Madame
web attempted to create a new IP from Spiderman side characters. Yet despite
having Dakota Johnson as the main star, the critic reviews for Madame Web
leave a lot to be desired. Could spiderman have saved Madame Web? Or should
Madame Web have been a side character in a spiderman movie? Is Marvel's
Madame Web worth watching?

MADAME WEB REVIEW - I'D RATHER EAT MY OWN FOOT - Disparu:
Madame Web review of the Sony Spider-man universe Marvel movie that Disney
wish didn't exist. The Marvel Cinematic universe is a Disney creation, but
as Sony own Spiderman, spin offs of spider-men can exist in the same
universe but can't always say his name. Madame Web is that spiderman
spinoff, featuring Dakota Johnson who can see into the future. But given the
review scores of Madame Web. Is Madame Web Worth Watching?

MADAME WEB REVIEW: ONE OF THE *WORST MOVIES* I'VE EVER SEEN!!!:
Wow, I have seen a lot of garbage over the last few years and yet Madame Web
is a STAND OUT when it comes to that. EVERY facet about this movie was
horrendous. From the acting, directing, editing, script and so much more the
movie fails and every conceivable level!!

I FOUND THE STUPIDEST COMIC BOOK: THE DART AND ACE - ComicTropes:
When it comes to weird golden age superheroes, I can always find something
good in the pages of Weird Comics by Fox Features Syndicate. This time, I
take a look at The Dart, an ancient Roman warrior who is mystically
transported to the modern day and continues to fight crime with the help of
an adopted orphan named Ace. The artwork is often rough, the villains are
never very interesting. But what makes the Dart extra special is that his
love interest, Miss Tilbury, ends almost every issue with a withering diss
against the Dart's secret identity, teacher Mr. Wheeler.

LUCID DREAMS & NIGHTMARES: EVER DREAM THIS MAN?:
Lucid Dreams & Nightmares: Ever Dream This Man? For thousands of years, we've
pondered the meaning of dreams. Dreams offer insight into our subconscious.
Dreams help us process emotions and organize our memories. Most of us live
our waking lives giving a sort of performance. Whether through dishonesty,
embarrassment, or simply being polite, there are thoughts we do not
share.**Dreams have intrigued us for thousands of years. They provide a peek
into our subconscious. They aid in managing emotions and arranging our
memories. We often perform in our awake state. We might be dishonest,
embarrassed, or just polite. Thus, we keep some thoughts to ourselves.**
Dreams, on the other hand, offer a platform where these suppressed thoughts
can freely roam. They are the uncensored version of our minds, a place where
our deepest desires, fears, and secrets can come to light without the fear
of judgment or consequences. Dreams also serve as a mirror, reflecting our
inner state of mind. They can hint at unresolved issues, unfulfilled
desires, or even potential future scenarios. They can act as a guide,
helping us navigate through the labyrinth of our thoughts and emotions.
Moreover, dreams can be a source of inspiration. Many artists, writers, and
scientists have reported getting brilliant ideas from their dreams. They can
stimulate our creativity, encourage problem-solving, and even help us
prepare for future events. In conclusion, dreams are not just random images
that appear during sleep. They are a powerful tool that our mind uses to
process information, manage emotions, and explore the infinite possibilities
of our imagination. They are an essential part of our cognitive and
emotional well-being. While you sleep, your inhibitions disappear. And you're
left with the raw, unforgiving truth. The real you. But dreams can be more
than that. Some claim dreams are the realm between ours and the spirit
world. Some dreams can predict the future. Studies have shown that dreams
can be shared between people. Lucid dreaming is when you - not your dreaming
self, your conscious self - controls the dream. You are, literally, a God.
The universe is your playground. It's exhilarating and powerful. But there
is a dark side. What if: while lucid dreaming, you weren't in control of the
dream? But, someone else was? That's no longer a dream; it's a nightmare.
And it's no longer a playground - it's a prison. Every night, the lights go
out, you close your eyes, and he's waiting for you. #Dreams

I was moderately productive yesterday, grading and prepping quizzes and
materials and such. So TV was not the focus. I got through:

The Buccaneers (Apple TV+) - "Women or Wives" (ep. #1.2). Mild follow-up
to the pilot. No Christina Hendricks (or the other mother) this epie at
all... Alisha Boe's Conchita throws a party, and the Americans (except
Nan) continue to behave like wild women of the 1960s, and nothing like
young women of the 1870s.
Disappointingly, Nan caves far to quickly and forgives her sister
Virginia (Imogen Waterhouse), though she doesn't deserve it. Conchita's
overhears half a conversation from her husband Richard (Josh Dylan), and
gets the wrong idea and goes about "punishing" him, though he has no
idea what is going on. Richard's younger brother is a weird, sadistic
bastard, and humiliates Lizzy (the other "pretty" one) - which gives us
a little bit of naked nudity from Aubri Ibrag. He then proposes to
Virginia, but Lizzy is too much of a coward and wilting violet to warn
Virginia that her husband is a menace... On cue, it's revealed that
Mabel (Josie Totah) and Richard's cousin(? sister?) are probably lesbians.
And Nan is continues to be the quarry of two suitors - Guy (Matthew
Broome), and Theo, the Duke (Guy Remmers), with the latter spontaneously
proposing to Nan at the end.
Meh. I hope ep. #3 is better than this one was.

golf - Kideki Matsuyama easily wins the Genesis Invitational at Riviera
(in L.A.) by three strokes! - Matsuyama surged into the lead with a 62
on the final day, while other leaders like Patrick Cantlay and Xander
Schauffele faltered.

soaps: GH - Fri's ep. Wow, that was fast! - While Josslyn frantically
searches for Sonny (but finds only Ava), they seemingly write Dex out!
(I guess there is no need for him with Jason coming back?...) Josslyn
swears to never forgive Sonny for sending "her man" away! (Duh!) Not
much else happened - Sam had a long conversation with Alexis about her
son (who never appeared). Anna confirms that Olivia Jerome is dead;
Alexis informs Ava of the death. Cyrus Renault visits Laura, and informs
Laura about his new radio program (the one he got by cutting a deal with
Nina).

The Man in the Guesthouse (Lifetime) - Like "The Beach House Murders"
from the night before, this was pure background while I did other
things, such as grading, etc. So I didn't fully follow what was going
on, though I got the gist of this one better than "The Beach House
Murders". But this seemed pretty par for the course for a "renter from
Hell" kind of movie...

I watched:

Star Trek Generations (4K disc) Time after time Malcolm McDowell shows
up in a movie and causes trouble. But this time he has to go up against
both Kirk and Picard.

Star Trek: First Contact: (4K disc) Picard has to go back in time to
stop the Borg from assimilating Earth in the past. By far the best of
the TNG movies.

Star Trek: Insurrection (4K disc) Picard violates the prime directive by
inserting himself into a planet's civil war and picking a side he wants
to win after sleeping with one of the planet's women. I listened to the
commentary track by Mirina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes (who also
directed). I turned on the trivia track too. Do you know how bad a
movie has to be for me to turn on the audio commentary and the trivia so
I can't hear the dialogue or read it? Insurrection is that bad. But
the commentary is arguably worse, because I found myself wanting to yell
at the screen as Frakes and Sirtis continually got details about what
was happening on screen wrong. But on the plus side, I did manage to
get some cleaning around the house done.

Star Trek Nemesis (4K disc) For the final TNG movie Picard must face off
against a clone who has seized power on Romulus and quickly becomes the
Bane of his existence. Once again I opted for both the commentary track
and trivia track. But at least this time the director actually had
interesting information about the making of the movie. If anything, I
think the director's commentary helped a lot in making watching the
movie tolerable. That and I've always liked the battle sequences.

Hey, thanks for asking!

The Plex asked if I would like to continue watching I. S. S. (You have to
spell it like that to find it on Wikipedia). So I said yes and it let me
watch it.

This was only sort of OK. It was really poorly directed and not much better
written. Somehow the guy knocked into space while on an EVA last seen
hurling away from the station somehow managed to grab onto something and
has been hiding, lurking outside for days without running out of
life-support? I think not.

I give them props for at least attempting zero gravity scenes, but thumbs
down for much of the execution.

So the guy goes out on the EVA and only once he’s out of the ship, does he
notice the United States is on fire (because the godless Ruskies nuked us),
and he tells the spunky girl astronaut inside to keep everybody else away
from the windows, so they won’t see this. Because she’s the only one that
can hear the com feed and none of the others have snuck a peek at any time
and if they do, she’s going to stop them how exactly?

They brought the ISS down into the atmosphere when they picked up the
spunky new girl so she could bring lots of extra supplies (and apparently
earth is not aware of this) and then realized they can’t take it back up
again because they haven’t used the thrusters in years. How exactly did
they bring it down in the first place?

One of the crew I think one of the godless Commies has invented
anti-radiation sickness stuff that he has four test tubes of. Apparently
they think they can take this down into the aftermath of a nuclear war,
where the United States is entirely on fire and use it to write their own
ticket like it’s not game over, man.

And then the very end is stupider than anything that went before.

TRACKER discussed elsewhere

DEATH IN PARADISE S13E03.

Well there is officially a new worst episode in town.

The celebrity chef, who looks just like Gordon Ramsay, but is a really
sweet guy is hosting a celebrity chef cookoff, and the winner will be the
chef at his new hotel next week. The logistics of that seem a bit dicey.
Anyway, he turns out to be poisoned by the deadly Saint Marie poison tree,
every bit of which, from the bark to the leaves to the fruit is completely
deadly, and there is no known antidote. Something they forget, totally when
one of the suspects becomes sick, and they just take her to the hospital
and she responds well to treatment.

After a lot of misdirection, we finally find out that this guy is the
cooking worlds Harvey Weinstein, and he has raped all these women for at
least 30 years by telling them stuff like “I won’t give you a loan to start
your own restaurant unless you sleep with me“

You know that’s probably not a good business practice But I’m not sure it
rises to the level of rape. In fact, it’s a lot more like prostitution.

Anyway, all the female contestants get together and decide they can’t hurt
him because there is no evidence that he ever raped anybody despite the
fact that he took pictures of the most recent one, and she’s seen them and
so has her husband (and it looks consensual to him.) so they decide murder
is their only out. Everybody decides they should feel sorry for the women
and do their best to make sure they get off Scott free. The episode ends
with a phone number you can call and tell the BBC if anyone has ever been
mean to you.

I heard bad things about this movie and never attended in theater. I
saw it once on tv and never wanted to see it again. I hated the Cochrane
character because the script made us hate the Cochrane character, forcing
Our Heroes to save the day. It never made any sense that, living in the
commune, he had any ability to perform engineering. I didn't like the
Borg Queen retcon although she was a decent villain.

Then when the first contact occurs, it's off screen.

Huh. I really hated the script.

First contact happens on screen, but your other criticisms are valid.
If I were writing the script I would have avoided the time travel aspect
as being unnecessary. That being said, if they insisted on the time
travel aspect I would have swapped out Lilly for Guinan. Don't get me
wrong, Alfre Woodard knocked it out of the park. But it would have made
more sense for a stranded Guinan to help Cochrane develop warp drive so
she could get off the planet. I would have also brought the entire cast
of DS9 and had them on the planet actually fighting Borg while Pickard
kept the same storyline on the Enterprise.

Yeah. Both Picard and Data basically having doubles in the same movie
just didn't work. And where was Sela in all of this? She could have
been the main villain or give her a redemption arc by making her the
Romulan who helps the Enterprise.

Yup. The one incident he was never able to find a cause for from 17

I was just disappointed that we were finally getting a big screen
feature film Borg movie and other than that first cube, all the Borg
stuff was creeping around dark corridors on the ship.

In the weeks up to its release, I anticipated vast space battles between
hundreds of Starfleet ships-- maybe Klingons and Romulans, too-- and a
Borg armada. Basically like they did for the Dominion War on DS9. And
then when I saw the movie, there was likea 30 second battle and the cube
blows up and that's basically it.
