Verse 1
Once a year upon the holiday
We'd dress like ghosts and devils, too
Run and yell like vandals through the night
High on sugar, ways to make a fright

Verse 2
Threats of harm at every door
Chant in tones as to make one shiver
From long-lost nostalgia of forgotten days
That would bring demons out to slay

Verse 3
Away they'd keep the sheep asleep
Behind bars and doors locked tight
My children's children done the same
But now with parents present in the game

Verse 4
Gone are the days of running wild
Instead they stay locked in the night
Parents speaking of a “safer way”
Demon time is back to save the day

Verse 5
Confinement now the parents' way
To keep the children safe from fear
But fear persists of silent screams
An olden way of demon scenes

Live free or die.
