As part of our ongoing effort to end the hostilities at AAPC, I have drawn up the following treaty, and am urging *all* of AAPC's members (from both "teams") to agree to it.

Once agreed upon, the following rules will go into effect:

1) All posts greeting "Jordy" will stop.
2) No "Necroposting" (bumping a "dead" thread by thanking someone, again, for a comment they'd made 10 years ago, etc.).
3) Everyone will limit themselves to a maximum of 25 posts per day.
4) Will Dockery will be addressed and/or referred to only by his name ("Will," "Dockery," "Will Dockery").
5) All attack posts directed against Will Dockery, his family and friends will stop.

If accepted, the treaty will go into effect at 12am EST, September 9, 2023.

I would like everyone who is willing to participate to state their agreement in this thread.

Team Ash will consider this impossibility, and as a gesture will temporarily cease its hell fire-- easy to do since Ash is focusing on previous commitments he set aside to come here. They hadn't replaced me, it's hard to find someone who does creativity and also manage it. Poor Will could had been in on it, it involves comics, a major Internet project with stocks share to boot.
Ash already doesn't say hello to Jordy (that's Will's doing using poor Jordy the dupe who will always respond to his hellos to keep a thread abumpin'), I never have attacked his family and friends (except that one fool would blasphemed Jesus' name to use against me).
But I will not stay my hand when Will, Zod and Dance attack me and keep bumping attack threads against me that they created while hypocritical saying they're not trolls and wouldn't do such.
And I can work on addressing Will and his friends by their proper names, the nicknames were actually saving their real names from showing up on Google searches. *shrug*

That's what I'm thinking. Why I can restrain myself for this brief time.
But I don't even think Dockery will agree to the 25 posts a day so this will most likely be a nonstarter.

I think that's within reason. I've modified item one to include all greetings regardless of the person being greeted. "Thank you posts" strike me as wasteful if one is limited to 25 posts per day. However, if someone wants to waste their 25 posts in that manner, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to do so.

As an addendum, could we have a moratorium on threads extolling Dan Barfield and his 20 year old website? It would be different if he were a member of AAPC, but he is not. If he would like to join AAPC, he would be welcome.

It's Off-Topic, and therefore outside of the Guidelines -- but, again, the treaty is just an attempt to stop the vicious circle of attacks (or Tits for perceived Tats). We can't ask for too many concessions, without offering additional concessions to the other side in return.

With a 25 post per day limit, we all need to use our posts wisely. If anyone wants to use their posts advertising Dan Barfield's art where it clearly isn't welcome, that's their decision. If nothing else, it beats a "Hello" post to Jordy.

Term 1: you want to make new "Guidelines" telling everyone on the group (including me) whom they can post to, and what they're allowed to say to them. I don't agree with that, any more than I agree with the other "Guidelines" you've tried to enforce already.

I'm sympathetic with this new "Guideline" since a couple of trolls have recently been bumping and misrepresenting decades-old threads to flame me. But of course this doesn't ban "Necroposting" of that sort.

That's already one of your "Guidelines" and it's been a major factor in the "hostilities" you say you're trying to end: you want to be able to limit Will's posts, and he doesn't want you to. Which probably makes your "treaty" a non-starter anyway. But, since you want a comment:

How do you plan to enforce it? Who counts the posts everyone makes? Google used to post data on that, but if they still do I haven't seen it and don't know how to access it. If it's just going to be enforced selectively, with some people trolling others by complaining about them making too many posts, that's what we have now, and it hasn't ended "hostilities" in any way.

Items (3) and (4) are the nub of your "treaty" -- if Will limits his posts, you'll stop calling him "Will Donkey". Which was my original thought when I read it, and the basis for the comment which I wrote but decided not to send: "This looks like a personal issue between you and Will. I'd suggest you take it to e-mail."

On reflection, the only way I can see it impacting me is that it sets a precedent for new "Guidelines" limiting how everyone (including me) is allowed to refer to other people.

That's superficially attractive, since I'd love to see attack posts on "family and friends" stop; I've had my share of those, and there have been many others I've objected to: your posts calling Will's deceased wife a prostitute, for instance. But again I have to wonder: how can it be enforced? Any of your followers who wants to continue making those attacks on Will can simply set up a sock account to do so just like the "fakes" do now. Unless all the "fakes" sock accounts for you and your followers, you're promising something you can't deliver.

To sum up:
(1) you want to make up rules telling everyone (including me) what we're allowed to post to other people, which you're using to target at Zod and Jordy but potentially could target me as well. So, no.
(2) You want to make up rules telling everyone (including me) what old threads we're allowed to comment on. No.
(3) You want the rule you've already made up telling everyone (including me) how many posts we can make. No.
(4) In return, you and your "followers" are going to (4) stop calling Will names and (5) stop attacking Will's friends and family, both living and dead. But not anyone else's family. Whoop-de-doo!

And that's supposed to bring "peace" to aapc. What a crock of shit! Or, as Tom Paine put it:

The above is a demand made by various members of the group.

Again, this is not a Guideline, but a demand. "Necroposting" is the bumping of *any* thread that has been effectively gone inactive.

However, "Necroposting" is a broad term. It would apply to the resurrection of any "stale" thread with the purpose of trolling/flaming others. This trolling could be in the form of thanking someone for the 50th time, or it could be to reignite an old flame war by continuing a past attack. Bumping poems you'd posted to show how poorly you respond to negative criticism would be considered flaming, and would not be allowed.

OTOH, If someone comes across a past thread featuring a poetry-related discussion that they would like to reopen, I see no reason why that should not be allowed.

As you should be aware, many of our members (past and present) have repeatedly complained that their poetry/discussions get buried under literally dozens of posts offering little-to-no poetry-related content whatsoever ("Hello" posts, for example).

Ideally, the first page of AAPC should contain 25 active discussions on poetry and poetry-related topics.

By limiting everyone's posts to 25 or less a day, we are hoping that this will come about.

This is taking a huge leap of faith insofar as Will, Zod, and Jordy are concerned, as they would have a total of 75 posts/day between them and could continue to bury all of the discussions should they so desire.

PLEASE NOTE that the Guidelines suggest limiting one's posts to 10/day. 10 posts or less shall remain in the Guidelines, as we believe that it would successfully limit *any* one member from trolling and/or dominating the group. 25 posts/day, however, are the terms of the treaty, and in that regard, are a partial concession on my part as well.

It will initially be done on an honor system. We're all adults, and should be able to comport ourselves as such.

Should it appear the any member is posting excessively, anyone who chooses to do so may check the number of said member's posts. If the member has been found to have over-posted, it will be duly noted in a thread alerting them (and the rest of us) to that fact. If said member continues to over-post, they will receive a second notification. If the over-posting happens a third time, the treaty shall be rendered null and void.

I plan on numbering each of my posts on a daily basis so that there will be no question as to the number of posts I have made -- and I encourage others to do the same.

They would be a violation if they are raised to troll Will or Zod -- or any member who has signed the Treaty.

If Benders returns, he will have to make his own decisions regarding how he interacts with Will and Zod. Of course, the option of signing the Treaty would be open to him as well.

I probably also post close to 25 or more in my barraging Will's, Zod's and Dance's mistake laming attack threads and their attack posts on me. It has become a never ending vicious cycle that sustains itself and they don't know how to escape from, so it always gives me opportunities to post comments on.

I stumbled across this thread during one of my infrequent forays through the wasteland of what's left of a.a.p.c.

It's a noble effort, Michael, but it's doomed to fail, for one simple reason: the damaged egos of Dockery and Dance.

I'm sure that you're familiar with Nietzsche's concept of the "will to power." This place, such as it is, is the only place on earth where Dockery and Dance feel like they can exercise any power. Sadly, for the rest of us, the only power that either one of them has is the power to disrupt. Ruining this place for everyone else is all that these two failures at life have got..
It's pathological. And pitiful.
