Actually, the point is more that they don't hire *anyone* to review
tweets. It's all done by AI, which is to say, broken shitware that
can't do a tenth of what's claimed. Hiring *people* would cost money.

I talked with a librarian yesterday, and she said an index card is best.
I'd think a sharp blade would cut at the crease with less risk of
tearing the page.

Mad once had a mock ad for a "Ridiculously Expensive Book Club" or
something like that. The description said, "Each page is uncut, because
these books are for showing off, not reading."

likely whoever suspended you, even if human, had never heard of them.

They're still sold, but not on the new-book market. More often it's a
book in which just one pair of pages failed to be fully separated, but
even that only happens with old books, as far as I know.

One of my jobs when I worked in the UMass library in 1969 was cutting
pages in new books. All of them were foreign-language, so, at least
back then, it was more common in other countries.

Except for a few art books (where the structure of the book is part of
the art) I don't think I've heard of any published in my lifetime
(since 1954). Though I've seen a couple older ones (from the
nineteenth century) that still had a signature or two uncut.

These days most presses are automated and there's nobody folding signatures
by hand or hand-cutting them on a guillotine before sewing them up with a
needle.

There ARE a few crazy small-run presses out there like that, though. There's
a shop in Richmond VA that prints small poetry books with hand-set type
and hand binding. I would not be surprised if they left the pages uncut.
This is not typical of modern production, however.
