The above is a perfect example of your addressing Stinky George and Dirty Mike as a couple.

If they are just neighbors, as you claim, why should you assume that they will be spending their Sunday night together?

And even if Stinky told you that he and Dirty were going to be snuggling together in Stinky's sleeping bag, why would mention Dirty in your post? If Stinky and Dirty were platonic friends, one would expect you to say "I hope you are having a nice Sunday night."

Absolutely not.

I simply wished them both a good evening.

HTH and HAND.

But why?

Why assume that they are spending their Sunday night together?

Why not just wish Stinky a pleasant Sunday? When you say "Hello" to Jordy, you don't say "Hello" to his neighbor as well.

They're neighbors, pretty close to being a room mate type arrangement.

Just because they live in the same tent camp doesn't make them a couple.

HTH and HAND.

According to the Google Maps images, there's another shed that's almost adjacent to yours. Should Zod be asking you what you and your neighbor are doing each time he posts?

I had quite a few roommates (actual roommates in an actual house), but no one ever asked me how my Sunday night with John, Paul, Mattew, Luke, & co. was going.

OTOH when I was living with a woman, they would ask me how Mary and I were.

When someone is in a serious relationship (either married or living together) it is considered proper etiquette to address them as a couple.

When someone has a roommate who is only a friend, then it is proper to address them as an individual.

When you address Stinky and Dirty as a couple, you are implying that they are living together as a couple.

If they are, in fact, only friends, it is not only misleading for you to address them as a couple, but it's showing discourtesy toward them as well.

Words matter.

Learn what they mean and how to use them correctly.
