DONKEY: I've posted photographs of Dr. Schwimmer looking at and verifying Stephan Pickering's Hebrew document.

MMP: You've posted photos of him looking at it. Looking at something and verifying its authenticity are two very different things.

Is Dr. Schwimmer qualified to verify a record of conversion? How did Dr. Schwimmer verify it? What criteria did he use? Did he check the credentials of the Rabbi/Rabbis who'd signed it?

Did he check to see whether their affiliations were accepted by the Jewish community?

IIRC, Dr. Schwimmer looked at the document, attempted to suppress his laughter, and made a general comment like "It looks like an official document."

Such is not a verification.

I don't need to, Donkey.

I remember it very well.

Dr. Schwimmer looked at the document, said something to the effect that he couldn't read Hebrew, but that it looked official.

Dr. Schwimmer has no credentials for verifying the authenticity of a conversion, did not verify the authenticity of Pick's conversion paper, and appeared to find the situation as ridiculous as the rest of us did.
