Born and raised in Washington D.C.
Discovered by Bo Diddley when Billy was performing with The Rainbows,
a D.C. group led by Don Covay; Diddley invited Billy to join his
backing band and introduced him to Chess Records.

If I'd known that the MAG Music label was based in D.C. I would not
have omitted it. The record was not in any other listing I inspected,
'Billy Stewart' is not exactly a unique name, and he is credited on
only one side of the MAG Music 45.

Anyway, thanks for your correction. Bruce.

Billy Stewart's records were new to me and I did enjoy a good
number of the sides that I came across on YouTube.
