Your top 5 is very strong. I don't consider "Night Train" by James Brown to be an instrumental.

"Leap Frog" would likely be in my top 20. "Hideaway" too. "Walkin' With Mr. Lee" and "Tequila" I think. I like "Manhattan Spiritual" a lot. "In A Mellowtone" Duke Ellington. "Take The A Train" too.

I wouldn't say he sings "throughout"---but I've reconsidered this
"Night Train" entry and concluded that Bruce and yourself are quite
correct and there is just too much vocal for it to strictly class as
an instrumental.

I agree with Bruce in also liking "Manhattan Spiritual" (#82 for me) a
lot. I have a new #100 now and together with The Shadows and Reg Owen
there's now THREE UK records in there as "Telstar" - The Tornadoes
takes over that last spot

I you had said "foreign" instead of "old-fashioned"I might have understood
what you're talking about. And I don't see how it sounds old-fashioned but
