Yet again, the annual RADW Stats Awards show who the main
SpamTrollers of this newsgroups are.

The only bonus is that next year's annual stats will look a lot
different when the posts from G2 will no longer be a thing.

That just leaves the infamous NetKnow nntp server, that stats show
have input over three and a half thousand posts in 365 days to RADW.
(Over a hundred a day!!!) With the total Doctor Who content limited
to about two hundred of those posts... and I'm probably being
generous at that!

Dave, if my agenda was to be the top poster here I'd be the top

I don't have an agenda, but some days I do give your posts more
respect than they deserve, other days I'm more contemptuous, but
wanting to post here over 100 times a day - 99% of them not about
Doctor Who - on my quest to be the No.1 SpamTroller of RADW is not

account and continuing his spam. Will the asswipe bar all of E-S in
retaliation?

can be reported to the news admin. (The complaint address would

I don't consider Tim's post to be spam, off-topic of course but never
repetitive ads for products nobody needs. My kill file deals with his
posts which is my right, I don't believe providers should be making that
decision for me.

The Google spam flood was one thing and much different than Tim's posts.
I also kill filed the asswipe in October and it's been much more
peaceful but once again it was my choice.

I remember there was big debate many [many] years ago (probably on
one of the admin net-abuse groups) where the free speech advocates
pointed out that nobody had the authority to unilaterally remove
messages from Usenet as it amounted to censorship. Others disagreed
of course. As news service providers use basic filtering via
"Cleanfeed" or "SpamAssassin" (etc) to protect their service from
spam and DoS attacks it probably comes down to how you actually
define spam and whether you consider filtering posts at nntp server
level is censorship or providing a good service.

I do consider Tim's number/date posts to be spam. As they are not
part of any discussion here and serve no purpose other than to add to
his post count. (And by using two different Google accounts to get
around the Google Groups posting limit he knew exactly what he was
doing!) But I was happy enough to deal with him via my
'groups.google.com' filter, which worked fine. But I did miss out on
any on-topic posts Tim made here.

Of course, that was before the Google Groups disconnecting from
Usenet thing was announced and now we don't know if/how Tim will be
able to access RADW after February. I'd like to think Tim would stick
around and discuss Doctor Who though, but I'm happy enough to Bozo
Bin or filter him if he returns from a proper news service and keeps
up with the number/date nonsense.

After I filtered GG posters, Dave went in to my Bozo Bin for six
weeks around mid-Sept to late October too. So I did my own
filtering/censorship*... and I loved the peace and quiet! So yes, it
is nice to have that option.

RADW is a Usenet newsgroup not a Google Group, so RADW will exist as
it always has done. People using 'Google Groups' just won't be able
to access it.

If Google has it's own "Doctor Who" chat group within its 'Google
Groups' structure, then GG Users would be able to access that of
course. But that group wouldn't be RADW.
