Steve's Pecker, oops, that's Pender, is out with only 20 points in the 4th place pool. And Rick's Savoy single was last and is also out. With just 2 Preliminary groups left Steve's McTell is now also out.

I'm guessing that this sort of thing was done so that religious people
who wouldn't listen to "the devil's music" could have it both ways.

I knew Mayfield wrote it, though it doesn't sound like one of his, but my
point was about the performance. Mayfield collaborated with Ray, and was
credited, on a lot of stuff in the 60s, including "The Danger Zone," which
does sound like a Mayfield song, though Ray does it full justice. Why he was
not credited on "Hit the Road, Jack" was probably a corporate decision, and
since he and Ray were old friends, I bet he got paid.

I had heard that Percy was hideously scarred by the car accident, which ended
his performing career, but the few pictures of the older Percy in that YouTube
post hardly show any scarring. As Larry David might say, "Interesting . . ."
