It's such a ridiculous, unbelievable trope - even for a soap - but once again on today's show, Li Shin decides to show up, dismiss Chad as DiMera Enterprises' CEO and installs Jake on the spot to the position.  Seriously?!?  Jake has absolutely no corporate knowledge, seemingly unaware of common business terminology, yet the board of directors places him in charge of an international multi-billion dollar business?!?

Well if Sami can be a CEO, perhaps anyone can....

Maybe the better way to think about this is that Dimera Enterprises was never really a legitimate public corporation in the traditional sense.  It started out as a privately owned extension of a Mafia-like mobster, and maybe it never really stopped being that way.  After Stefano died, it stayed in the Dimera family as basically a privately-owned corporation, and in that sense, what they call the "Board of Directors" may really just be a group of hangers-on whose only real qualification was loyalty to the family.   So while Shin may present himself to the world as a business executive, maybe he's really just the chief hanger-on figurehead installed to make the company seem legit.  If he actually has no real business sense and is just making corporate moves based on his perception of loyalty to the family, maybe it all makes perverted sense.
