I had the opportunity to listen to a friend's sennheiser d600 headphones
that I find really better than mine, the d6000, 4 times more expensive!
the stereo image of the d600 is largely as good, the low frequencies are
sharper, less coated ,the image seems more present
obviously the image is not in front (instead of being between the ears
like all the headphones) even if, curiously on some recordings, it is in
front, like with the d6000!
well I'm happy with my headset, eh
but I could have saved a lot of money if I hadn't rushed to buy the d6000!

Look at drop.com for the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX, which is a
lower-priced version made specially for that vendor. Another model, the
58x, is even less expensive and has a strong family resemblance to the 600s.

That said, lots of headphone users get the most of their purchases by
using eq. That sow's ear sometimes becomes a silk purse.

Out of curiosity, I Googled Sennheiser d6000 (and HD 6000 and just 6000 (there is a Sennheiser amp with that model number) and couldn't find anything, new or used. Can you provide a link?

d6000 should be replaced by d800!
