Thinking about the name Slezak but slightly off topic, has anyone ever "cleaned up" (digitized) the Mapelson cylinders? I know that it wold be a lot of work but what a treasury if we could hear the voices cleaned up from from the backgorund grime. Maybe I have missed it but all I have been able to find are issues with dim voices sunk into a scratchy mire.

Marston's Three American Sopranos (2003) contains the Nordica cylinders, a little more than half an hour. But I don't know if anyone has gone back to transfer the cylinders again, or if they are still playable. The LP issue may be the best source now.
