Mainly because the Adipose were a bit of a knock off of the Stay Puft
Marshmallow Man.

"Ghostbusters: Afterlife" from 2021, had the Mini-Pufts (the mini Stay
Puft Marshmallow Men):

They are also back in the sequel, called "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire",
due for release on 22 March, 2024 (in the USA). There's a brief glimpse

BUT, the Mini-Pufts fist appeared in the animated TV show "The Real
Ghostbusters" (an epsidoe titled "The Return of Mr. Stay Puft") back in
