Seems to me the orchestra's tagline is true even if you are Martian. It is also attention-getting because America doesn't generally think of itself as having a "hometown", so anyone, American or not, might be curious to find out what that orchestra is.

There are about 20 discs of William Grant Still's music on Spotify.
The symphonies are on Naxos discs in the American Classics series
performed by the Fort Smith Symphony, an Arkansas based pickup group.
Also some discs of his music with the American Symphony Orchestsra
under Leon Botstein.

The Plymouth Phil logo involves North America's early history during the year 1620 altjough I'd prefer to think of Samuel de Champlain's exploration of the coast of New England, erc. around 1607 When he arrived at what is Plymouth,,Massachusetts today and since 1620, he called it Port Saint-Louis (Wah-h???) Much better name don't you think? Bien sûr!!!!!

I hope you cared enough to lsiten to William Grant Still's 1st Symphony played by the fine regional orchestra in Massachusetts called the Plymouth Philharmoic. After all, this newsgroup is called Recorded Music Classical Recordings.

I suppose this tag means that indigenous peoples didn't live in towns
(although at least the pueblo dwellers of current-day New Mexico,
and probably others, would disagree).
