Already having the recordings I most treasure (Magic Flute, Beethoven Syms, Wozzeck), I probably won't get this either. Will take a look, though.

Given the amount of material, separate boxes is reasonable.

The format mixing seems iess so. Putting the Mozart Symphonies on Blu-ray must have been intended to hedge against the orchestral box being too unwieldy. Still, to me it's an odd decision.

The BluRay disc issued a few years ago mistakenly has the 1976 VPO version of the 40th Symphony, though the documentation says it is the 1966 BPO version.

Can Someone who owns the box verify if the BluRay has been corrected?

I have that incorrect first issue of the BluRay, and didn't realize it had (apparently) been corrected. I remember it was quickly unavailable just after I got my preorder, so I guess that's when it was corrected...nice of them to TELL us there was a correction (NOT!). Anyhow, I raised this issue with someone who has the new megabox and they checked and the timing DO match the correct BPO versions.

Initial Complaints:
--- There are three 3 CD sets (Brahms Symphonies, Mozart Early Symphonies Vol.1 & 2).
They are very clumsily packaged: it is difficult to remove the center disc without tearing the jacket.
None of these needed to be 3 CD sets. They could have been packaged as individual discs (or the Mozart could have been three 2 CD sets)
--- There are three spoken word CDs, entirely in German:
------ Bohm rehearses Schubert Symphony 9
------ Bohm talks about Mozart
------ Erzahltes Leben (A Life Retold)
They are not translated into English (or French) in the booklet.
In the past DG has provided translations on their website, but they seem to have discontinued this practice.

I just noticed a CD that is missing from this box.
Bohm is represented in the 1992 Vienna Philharmonic 150th Anniversary box on DG by live performances of Schoenberg Pelleas & Melisande and R.Strauss Death and Transfiguration.
Perhaps DG no longer owns the rights, though they apparently still own the rights to Bernstein's contribution to that box (Haydn 102 + Ravel Piano Concerto)
- it was in DG's big Bernstein box of not too long ago.

These live recordings were made by Austrian Radio, the ÖRF. They probably own the rights. not DG. The recordings are not included in one of the other Böhm DG box sets either, so I guess they were not licensed to DG.

Yes, the VPO box is a rare animal where they really did reach out and get "new" live material. Have we seen the Schuricht Bruckner 5 in an official release since? (The Altus release is not as good a source; I find it hard to believe it is licensed.) Other discs, it's the same story. Where is the Bernstein material in an in-print form? I'm not finding it.

Bernstein's VPO recordings of Haydn Symphony 102 and Ravel Piano Concerto from the DG VPO 150 Box
are in the 121 CD/ 36 DVD/ 1 Blu-ray audio box issued by DG in 2018.
They are no longer coupled to each other: the Haydn is coupled with the Mass in Time of War on CD 54,
the Ravel is coupled with Mozart Piano Concerto 17 on CD 85

Very interesting. Perhaps different licensing from the artist's estates like was suggested. (Although, yes, it could just have bene forgotten).
