This recording is astoundingly excellent. The pianist and the music are one! The justly venerated Pascal Roge has to take a back seat to this pianist. The particular recording is an RCA box of all of Poulenc’s piano works - solo, chamber etc.

If you like Poulenc, this is a must hear.

The best Poulenc set. However, I still prefer Roge's piano solo recordings. There is a certain warmth in his tone I also hear in Poulenc's recordings of his work. It's an extra dimension, making the music sound richer.

I have the big Erato /EMI Poulenc box and it's fabulous.

However, on the theory that there's no such thing as too much Poulenc, I'll give Le Sage a try.
