Does anyone know if there is an accurate Larrocha discography on-line anywhere? In particular one that includes actual recording dates and in particular the Hispavox recordings. Often so-called discographies confuse published dates with recording dates. The only discography I know is this one, which generally has publish dates not recording dates.

If you have these 4 boxed sets, you have the bulk of AdL’s discography:

1. Alicia De Larrocha Icon (EMI). All the Hispavox except Paginas Celebres 1 and 2
2. Complete Decca Recordings (which includes Paginas 1 and 2)
3. Complete Mozart Sonatas (RCA)
4. Complete Mozart Concerto recordings (RCA)

Then the RCASingles. About 6 cds
The solo Ravel (Columbia) maybe available from Japan
Brahms PC2 with Joachim (don’t remember label)

That’s about all.

I'm a Larrocha buff myself when it comes to Spanish music and it has come to my attention that there's actually a fourth complete Albéniz Iberia+Navarra recording which pre-dates the one usually regarded as her first (Hispavox, later taken over by EMI). Unfortunately it has never made it into CD, therefore it's not included in the aforementioned box sets. Even the vinyl itself is exceedingly rare, since it never enjoyed wide distribution and was soon "superseded" by the justly famous Hispavox stereo remake. Of course, her interpretation of Iberia never changed essentially over the decades (mostly slower tempi with increasing age), and certainly not in the span of 4-5 years, so apart from the sonics I reckon there mustn't be great differences between both. But for die-hard Albéniz/Larrocha fans, there must be nice details to linger over...

This site lists all De Larrocha’s known repertoire - it’s full of surprises. Bartok’s Piano concertos 2 and 3. The Strauss Burlesque. A great deal of 2-Piano works played with her husband, Juan Torra. The Poulenc 2 Piano Concerto performed with the composer.
