LOL--I don't know Mela; Micheli of course is excellent. Since I don't
spend as much time around here as some others, I've only recently
recognized that you're a guitar guy as well as a piano guy. Sometimes
of course this kind of thing isn't well-advised. It's not always that
it works well; it's amazing that it can be done at all.

I am not a guitar guy or a piano guy. I
am Dan Koren. The music one listens
to does not define the person. Except
of course Melmoth, whose musical
taste can only be described as
bouillabaisse! ;-)

Regarding Micheli, there can be no
question he is one of the top artists
in classical guitar. Unfortunately, I
do not like his tone, which tends to
be nasal and undiferentiated, and
the seriousness he projects on
everything he plays, whether
appropriate or not. I do not
even watch him anymore.
He looks like he is dying
on every single note.

This guitarist, Pablo Sáinz-Villegas, really gets into the Rodrigo Adagio as do the members of the woodwinds involved.

He's good, though I'd be fine if I never heard the Aranjuez ever again.
He really has a powerful apoyando--something I haven't been able to
develop at all.
