I listened to set by her called “essential Granados“ on Spotify. I’m surprised to hear you say that you can’t imagine that Alicia de Larrocha could play Granados better. I hear Dosse’s playing as measured, notey and cautious, lacking sweep and passion. If you like Dosse that’s fine. To my ears, De Larrocha (EMI) is passionate, deeply sonorous, fearless, technically solid, and colorful.

I’m sure Alicia’s way with Granados isn’t the only approach, but I think I would look elsewhere for an excellent Goyescas and Spanish Dances.
