Since the demise of printed record catalogs (Schwann about 2001 or so;
if the R.E.D. Classical, successor to Gramophone Catalog; is still being
produced it's too expensive for my wallet) ArkivMusic seemed to have the
most extensive and easiest to use search functions (by artist & by composer
& by label).

Now that ArkivMusic is down, are there alternate sites that anyone has found as a suitable, if not perfect, substitute?

I use Presto to keep up to date with new releases.

I doubt if it's possible to keep up with what's available on CD. There
are so many small and specialized classical (SA)CD labels these days (all
over the world), new ones come and disappear again, as well as various
orchestral labels. I scan a number of review sites, Presto and JPC
occasionally, and don't mind if I miss a few releases. Besides, chances
are that someone here will draw my attention to them ;-)
