I remember Dobrowen for his recording of Medtner PCs with the composer as soloist.

The Malcuzynski/Kletzki recordings, to name only these. Still among my favourite Chopin PC2 and Rachmaninoff PC3.

Efrem Kurtz/NYP in the Khachaturian Gayne Suites was the very first LP I ever bought in the late 40's.

i have Dobrowen in Schnabel's remakes of Beethoven PF Concertos #2, 3, & 4.

I learned the Prokofiev Symphonies #2 & 3 from Bruck's 2 French Columbia LPs, which have been reissued on CD by www.forgottenrecords.com.

Can't say I ever hear of Lindenberg.

My first classical record was a 7" 45 RPM of Kurtz conducting excerpts from those suites, picked from a bin of used 45s in the back of a clothing store where my mother was shopping. It has Russian Dance, Young Kurds, Armen's variations and Lezghinka, and remains very special to me unto this day.

The Kurtz / NYPO 'Gayne' is indeed well worth a listen, a first-class performance ...

Suite 1 ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtegegqYO6g

Suite 2 ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMawJyVNgoo

I've never heard of Edouard Lindenberg either but his Dvorak "New World" is given quite a powerful performance ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvbTCFdOEC4

The Kletzki / Malcuzynski Rachmaninoff 3rd PC is also excellent ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdSS7nx20Mc

And so on.

I've never heard these recordings before but YouTube, being the great historic archive it is, usually yields up whatever it is you want to hear.
