I have a friend who thought listening to Mozart made people more intelligent. When his son was born, he had Mozart's symphonies playing constantly. The son turns out to have average intelligence.

I don't doubt that people who are drawn to Mozart's work and who appreciate it have above-average IQs, though.

I don't see Mozart being so much about genius as I do his creating works that help us to be grounded and in touch with our feelings...
In fact, there are pieces of Mozart's music I can't stand to listen to...one would think if he was all that smart he would have destroyed all evidence of them...such as the Turkish March, Eine Kleine Nacht Musik and the Flute and Harp Concerto!

I wish I could listen to the pieces you named with fresh ears. I've heard them too many times in places like supermarkets and malls to know if I like them or not.

However, I don't think Marilyn killed herself. I think she was deemed a threat. Jackie did not attend the MSG performance. She was utterly humiliated. And, it was so over-the-top that tongues were wagging and the truth about JFK's infidelities was threatening to come to light. If that had been the case, it could have presented a threat to JFK's reelection in 1964. So I think she was taken out of the way, and it was meant to look like suicide..

Coincidentally, a James Ellroy documentary came up on my Youtube this morning while I was working on some things. Ellroy was on the Santa Monica beach for some of the footage, and he made mention of his proximity to the former Peter Lawford house (or "fuck-pad," as Ellroy put it). No mention was made of Lennon's later residence at the place.

How about the screw-up sons of JFK and RFK? JFK Jr. famously crashed his plane and killed his two passengers. He shouldn't have been flying in the first place; he was inexperienced with nighttime flight and not particularly familiar with the craft's controls.

I think Jackie O ruined John Jr's life. He wanted to be an actor; she made him go to law school. He fell in love with Daryl Hannah; she made him break if off. Jackie had her eyes set on regaining the White House, even at the expense of her son. He died on his way to her house in Nantucket. I think she was a terrible. mother.

I didn't know that about Jackie O. and her son. How sad.

RFK Jr. admits to suffering some sort of neurological disease. Obviously impairment could be the source of some of his bizarre delusions -- including the one that the disease was caused by influenza vaccine!
