Hasbro is trying so, so hard to be hip and trendy. I got an e-mail today with the subject line, "It's Tuesday, IYKYK" (I have no idea what that means) and instead of a "CLICK HERE TO ORDER" button it included an "OMG! GIMME!" button. Geez, Hasbro, crank it down a notch.

So anyway, poor old Siege Megatron is fixin' to give the G1 Combaticons a run for their money on how many times you can pump out toys using the same production mold until it finally breaks. Shatters, even. Because, you know..

https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-generations-shattered-glass-collection-megatron-idw-s-shattered-glass-megatron-exclusive-hasbro-pulse-variant-cover

I laughed at this thing when I saw it, which I don't think is supposed to be the reaction they were going for. I guess it's a tribute to the Energon toy, and it transforms into a jet now instead of a tank! And the way that you transform it into a jet is to mistransform the tank mode and then plug a fake jet nose to the robot legs! Woooo!

There are ways to get somebody like me to buy toys and there are ways not to do it. I'm a simple man. If they had colored the toy like Megatron from Marvel Comics (which is somewhat close to what we got) I would have bought it. If they'd colored it like Combat Hero Megatron in purple, I would have (reluctantly) bought it. This, here, this doesn't appeal to me. Putting aside for the moment that I have no love for the toy they're paying homage to, it's an awful attempt at an homage. It's like a page from the Titans Return Nautica school of engineering (just tack some wings on and call it good).

So, uh, yeah. No Shattered Glass for me.

Zob (thanks, I hate it!)

There’s something so weird about it that I kind of like it. I don’t have a
lot of interest in Shattered Glass, but he’s wacky. He looks nothing like
the Energon toy. If he was Sky Garry, with slightly different new parts,
it would be a must buy.

I love Nautica — somewhere, in the G1 timeline, Brainstorm, Blurr and
Nautica are a team scouting out and exploring new worlds, covering every
environment. Blurr might be swapped out for Arcee.

When does this happen? Sometime after Rebirth, certainly, perhaps during a
period of peace, when the Autobots can explore the universe, and aren’t
bogged down in war. During that New Golden Age. They feel like a team the
same way the Seekers feel like a team.

They feel like a story that hasn’t been told. Put them in a set, add a
blurb, like the Amazon sets (try not to kill them in the blurb, though),
and it would be great. G1 expanding.

And, someone is bound to run into Skorponok and Galvatron somewhere.

Anyway, I think Nautica makes Brainstorm a better toy. Alone, Brainstorm is
a weird remold. Add in Nautica, and they belong together.

I have a knockoff (undersized?) of Sky Garry somewhere around here. It's an absolutely horrible toy, though I'm not sure how much of that is knockoff and how much of it is Sky Garry.

I agree the toy wouldn't make a bad Sky Garry with the right remolding. But I doubt I would buy it.

....Which is kind of a shame, in a way, since I was on a Siege Megatron streak for a long time there. I have like six or seven or eight of the damn things. I don't even know at this point. I don't think I've ever seen them all together at once. Hasbro finally managed to come up with a Siege Megatron that even Zob won't buy.

Zob (honestly not sure if that's a victory for me or a victory for Hasbro)

He looks like Siege Soundwave's "ship" mode if the "ship" was just lay Soundwave on his face, which it mostly is.
They were clearly going for an Energon homage, but just got way too lazy. This makes the Cog/Brunt/Sixgun redecoes look good by comparison.

I have a bootleg of the Brave version of SkyGarry, and hes lazy and lays down but still looks better than this toy. Sky garry at least has a container ship and container lift functions.

Nah, Nautica is a character in her own right. She has a huge personality an doesn't need to hang out with losers. Her gun is a welding torch and her shield is for welding properly. Completely different from Blurr.

I imagined her with TR Twintwist, Swerve, and the other characters that didn't appear on screen. To this day she's the only one I bothered to take out of that big pack she came in.

No Way! Brainstorm is a terrible toy and Nautica is great. They are 2 separate things, don't pull Nautica down by chaining her to Brainstorm Jr.
