Recorded in Chicago in 1958 for Bernie Harville’s Bandera outfit.Solid thumping blues with some decent harp. Amazingly also released here in UK (but not till 1961!!) as a single on Starlite label. Must be exceedingly rare in this issue as some sixty three years later I’ve yet to even see a Starlite 45rpm copy let alone own one

I’ve mentioned before on here of how me and some friends were backstage one night
with Jerry Lee Lewis at some London show when another fan present was
inconsiderate enough to ask the great man something about Groovy Joe
Poovey and who happened to have with him a 45rpm copy of Poovey's "Ten
Long Fingers" which he showed to Jerry.

And promptly wished he hadn't.

For at the mere mention of the Poovey name Jerry exploded in
rage,grabbed the guy's Poovey single and THREW it the entire length
of the dressing room! Luckily the quite valuable record landed in one
piece but we never did discover exactly what it was about the Poovey
name that raised so very much ire in Jerry

A potential problem here is that it has to be a record that Bruce
and/or Roger have never, or rarely, heard before. Frankly, you
guys have an extremely admirable/enviable but nevertheless rare
knowledge of popular music from 1946-1964.

For instance, both of you are probably very familiar with "Crazy Date"
by The Crazy Teens, but **99% of Americans aged 65+ have likely never
heard it before**. Can a member list this record as one of his or her
fave obscurities from 1959, and how about the non-charting:
