Miles also says that, prior to a visit from Linda Eastman, McCartney told him that he hoped this get-together would be successful; "Last time I had to throw her suitcase over the all."

Had that happened likely the Beatles would have gone on and Paul would be worth 10-15 Billion now vs 1 B which is not much in comparison to what others are reaping off these new record deals. The problem was not with Linda but rather the baggage of the Eastman's along with it as the direct conflicts of interest. Never ever bring your brothers or sisters lawyers in to run the family trust, always go to a third party correct? Hell even Klein could have done much better for them even though rumored to be a smuck. Don't blame George, John, or Ringo in the slightest for walking, would have done the same.

I understand John, George and Ringo's reluctance to go with Paul's new in-laws, but in the end Paul's choice was good in spite of that connection

Klein turned out to be a miserable mistake, with John even writing that 'Son of How Do You Sleep?' at him.

Depends on who it was good for, certainly not for Beatles fans who got the ax after they came off the rooftop and got nothing more after(except for Abby). The reason I question is George had an interview where he was displeased and uncomfortable with Paul's inlaws and I did not get the impression he disliked them but rather just in that capacity they were serving which is quite normal. The 2nd reason is John had an interview in 73? maybe that he acknowledged Klein issues and had heard that Paul might remove inlaws suggesting they could get a 3rd party which seemed to be John's hangup. So that suggest there could have been a reunion but by then George went off on a tandem about Paul which might have been related to his inlaws also. Hard to say, but the fans got screwed big time here so what was good for Paul-Linda & John-Yoko was a cluster screw for Beatles fans for the last 50 years.

The story of Paul throwing Linda's suitcase over the wall was in Albert Goldman's book (which Miles was a source) but in Miles' book, he said it was an American groupie without mentioning her name. When Francie Schwartz posted in RMB, people with inside information said Miles was referring to Francie who denied it vehemently.

Since both Goldman and Miles say the groupie in question was Linda Eastman, and since McCartney admits to his and Linda's contentious beginning, I'll go with Linda on this one.

However, I've browsed some of the threads Francie Schwartz particiipated in, and she was clearly batshit crazy. McCartney was wise to keep that fling brief. Of course, there was his unfortunate later relationship with Heather Mills.

Did Miles say the groupie in question was Linda Eastman in an interview or in another book? The groupie's name wasn't mentioned in Many Years From Now which was written under Paul's constraints. Photographer Jorie Gracen said she heard from Miles that it was Francie. BTW I heard that Francie is in assisted living now. She was open about her mental illness and in her later RMB posts, she went off the deep end and alienated everybody.

Goldman provides a quote from Miles about Paul tossing Linda's suitcase. It's understandable, as you say, why Paul would not want the groupie in question named in an official biography.

It's obvious from Francie's unreadable book and her posts in this group that she had serious problems. Normally, I'd feel sorry for such a person, but Francie's nastiness and foul mouth make her unsympathetic.

I vaguely remember Francie from a documentary ("The Beatles' Wives" or something along that line) looking very rough.
