Here is a very young conductor, who knows how to lead an orchestra, the Frankfurt RSO once again. The performance seems a wee bit rushed to my ears, but the video editing and sound is very good.

However, Gergiev toothpicking his way though P5 with the Mariinsky Orchestra in Carnegie Hall has this amazing dark and complex sound in all sections of the orchestra, and I think it's more apt in this work.

It is darker, yes, as it seems most Russian orchestras sound, but I also like the slightly more spacious account given by Paavo Jarvi with the Orchestre de Paris. Check it out.
