Freefall: Florence Has Credit
http://freefall.purrsia.com/ff3700/fc03604.htm

Ok, Sam and Florence’s spaceship needs a second nuclear reactor for
redundancy. And Sam found a nuclear bomb plant that is run by robots
who have nothing to do. And Florence has a HUGE credit with the robot
community. Win !

Of course, they are assuming that the robots can build a nuclear reactor
that is controlled past the first second of nuclear criticality.

In that society I don't think that's an issue. The robots for the
most part seem very competent and very conscientious. And remember
that this is a civilization that can produce AIs such as Florence.

Oh, I bet they can.

Yes, but remember that biological AIs like Florence were produced
by Dr. Bowman, an uplifted chimpanzee who is as crazy as Daffy
Duck, but he has his moments. We haven't seen *any other*
Bowman's Wolves.

On the other hand, somebody uplifted Doctor Bowman.
