My gut reaction to that is revulsion with Yoko's hideous performance. You're right, she almost makes Elephant's Memory (who were more about partying than playing) seem competent.

But my deeper, underlying question is: How did John Lennon -- who once labored alongside Paul McCartney at the piano to find just the right chord -- come to this?

I am coming to see John as.a victim of trauma-based mind control and Yoko as a plant. She deliberately preyed on his areas of weakness; most specifically, about the trauma of losing his mother. And John even called her "Mother"...

Yeah, isn't the "Mother" thing creepy? There's a quote from May Pang's book which I'll look for later, in which Yoko boasts about her ability to get John to do anything because she (Yoko) knew his deepest fears.

Yes, that is exactly what Yoko did. She tortured him. He never got over his Mother's death...she made sure of that...

A reference to stripping people naked, no surprise there.
