Judy's right - just no WDW stuff lately. I'm a bit disgruntled with all the changes in the past year or so. Rather than spending MLK weekend at Jambo House (like I've done for years) I went to Hilton Head, and loved it! Chris & Amanda were at WDW and from what they said, I'm glad I went to Hilton Head. Next January it'll be Hilton Head again - so much more relaxing. Did I not post that TR here? If not, my apologies.

The next HAL cruise is next Saturday, but we spend the night before at Saratoga Springs. The return to WDW isn't until the 2nd half of March, for Flower & Garden Festival.

Rodney you'll be pleased to hear Chris finally got a "real car". He now drives a beautiful 2022 VW Passat. No more stopping to charge up, lol!

I agree - I am not liking all the changes at WDW. We had planned to go
this past year in November, but with all the undesirable changes plus
masking, we postponed. Now that masking is mostly gone, I'm considering
it, but I'm still not really happy about the whole park reservation and
Genie crap. It's just not the same WDW that I enjoyed for decades.

LOL! Good for Chris! The Passat is a great car. Katie had a 2015
Passat but it met an untimely end last year in a freak accident in our
neighborhood. She hit a practically invisible illegally parked car on a
dark, foggy night. The Passat protected her very well and insurance
gave her $3K more that we paid for it 18 months earlier.

You are right about the changes at WDW. We went in November for
Thanksgiving actually. My daughter spent a small fortune on Genie
and Genie Plus. It's really a ripoff in my opinion. Just another way
for Disney to get their hands in our pockets. I still think that if we
stay on site at a Disney hotel they could give us some little perks
instead of taking more away. We're going again in August for the
food and wine festival. Last week in August. Hoping it's not going
to be too hot for us.

As long as guests keep packing the resort and parks, DIS will assume we
are all happy to pay for what they offer and probably keep raising
prices and reducing services until they find just the right balance.

I do believe that people are paying these prices because they are
compensating for all the COVID lock-downs and shutdowns. Once everyone
gets back to normal, DIS may find fewer guests willing to spend their
money. On top of that, we have an impending recession coming due to
runaway inflation and instability int he global markets due to Russia's
invasion of Ukraine. Top that off with a housing market poised to
collapse (again) and it spells disaster for DIS. But of course that
would be good news for people who can still afford to go - they will
find less crowded parks and better deals.

Nah, as long as you can handles 110F and 11% humidity, you'll be fine.
:-P The good news is most schools will be back in session (and most
in-person) so that might alleviate some crowds.

Rodney is correct, most of the Florida schools will be back in session
by late August.

Temps will be in the 90s with feels like from 90 to 110, love that
Florida humidity.

Also there will be daily showers usually in the afternoons between 2:00
and 5:00.

We go every year in late August/early September as it is where my
birthday falls.

That was our rationale for going in August. Hopefully it will be one of those
years where New York is hotter and more humid than Florida!! Taking our
chances I know. We were also banking on a lot of kids being back in school
that week.

I know we're taking a chance but if need be we will swim during the day
and go to the parks later in the afternoon/early evening.

We've experienced the afternoon showers before and real downpours so
that doesn't bother us. We usually luck out and it rains while we are on
an attraction and then it has stopped when we are done.

When Katie was in school, we used to go between the week after July 4th
and the first week of August. It was hot, but back in the good ol'
days, resort rates dropped after July 4t, plus the MKC/AP discounts
kicked in. It also tended to be less crowded since many schools started
in early August and families would take advantage of the holiday for
their "end of summer" vacation.

The key to dealing with the rain is to be prepared with ponchos and not
worry about getting wet. When the rain starts, the park will quickly
empty out.
