The Cincinnati Enquirer is replacing the Mutts comic strip
with the Ziggy panel for the duration (at least).

Now what will other papers accept in place of Mutts for the rest of 2021 if they option to?

Probably not overly much. Mutts fans are notoriously loyal and a lot of
them are likely pretty tolerant of reruns, which they likely won't
remember anyway.

I give it a month before the E****r is so overwhelmed by angry
subscribers' letters that they have to restore it even while it's still
in reruns--the only paper that can get "no reruns, ever!" to stick is
the NYDN, with many papers including my local one feeling that they
could never recover from even the subscriber loss of cutting Peanuts,
let alone Mutts.
