I still think though, that in some cases you have a smug attitude (wrt to Israel and Antisemitism etc) and I really have a problem with such attitude

Recently, someone suggested always using the plural "they" to accommodate those who believe that their gender is plural, is represented by more colours of the rainbow.

An added benefit is that "There they are!" no longer hurts the feelings of those who are alone and lonely.

Who knows, I sure don't want to, but sometimes I'm weak and then try teach even the unteachables (you, mswd, Herman et al) - looking in this ng fo recs, and sometimes I just get caught up in the moment with absolute idiots ;D

Another thing to add is: Taoist and Buddhist ideology is the ideology of smug people ;D having lost all touch with reality, yet teaching the world some childlike fantasies...

IMHO Busoni's version has dimensions
the original does not. It sounds more
"orchestral" than the original to my ears.

Egon Petri and Gunnar Johansen used to
perform the Busoni version, and Horowitz
made his own version of it, which I do not
like as much as the one I posted earlier.

'Gurwitz' is a remarkable pianist, even if you follow him closely with the score.

I agree that the Busoni version is more orchestral. IMO it lacks the leanness and meanness of the original version, compared to this recording by Cziffra, especially the leggiero molto:
