IFSDB is truly an amazing database. It would be nice if Amazon would
link to it as Amazon tends to get their series members and order messed up.

I don't think there is anything to buy since we use the "Creative Commons
License" -- see https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/ for details.
It lets anyone:

* Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
* Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even
commercially.

The only limitations are:

* Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license,
and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner,
but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

* No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological
measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

There may be issues with linking to third party sites, though.

I have very little success with that.

Has anyone ever had success convincing Google to let

Isfdb, incorporating Worlds of IFSDB!

I spread the word of the ISFDB with links, or mentioning it by name. I did so to one podcaster, not considering that he was also an author, and would ...er isfdb himself. Needless to say, they came through, even catching an essay about the genre.

You are, of course, referring only to /real/ series.

Not the made-up series Amazon appears to love creating.

Try this page:
<https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BTV3MNP?ref_=dbs_dp_rwt_sb_tkin&binding=kindle_edition>
note that only the two most recent novels are in this "one novel"
series, named "James Bond".

Or perhaps two series:
<https://www.amazon.com/Trigger-Mortis-Original-Material-Paperback-ebook/dp/B00U1ZV63Y/ref=sr_1_1?crid=224GWUABVPXAS&dchild=1&keywords=trigger+mortis+by+anthony+horowitz&qid=1619973347&sprefix=Trigger+Mortis%2Caps%2C274&sr=8-1>
which claims to part of "James Bond Novels (Paperback)" (note that
this is, in fact, a Kindle edition)
and
<https://www.amazon.com/Forever-Day-James-Bond-Novel-ebook/dp/B079RCYWGG/ref=sr_1_1?crid=TH2Y9REH0KGK&dchild=1&keywords=forever+and+a+day+anthony+horowitz&qid=1619973398&sprefix=Forever+and+a+Day%2Caps%2C408&sr=8-1>
which makes no claim at all, yet is listed as the other "1 Novel" in
the series "James Bond".

Also, returning to the first link, note the two series "James Bond -
Extended"
<https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NZT6FXT?storeType=ebooks&pf_rd_p=b7294ad7-1d0e-4c82-88ca-8ea203578c0b&pd_rd_wg=NAjMB&pd_rd_i=B08NZT6FXT&ref_=dbs_f_def_rwt_wigo_sps_r1_kmw_0&pd_rd_w=TotTr&pd_rd_r=768c9bd6-b556-4c4c-bbdc-a8ad5375c9f5>
and "James Bond 007"
<https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086MV694S?storeType=ebooks&pf_rd_p=b7294ad7-1d0e-4c82-88ca-8ea203578c0b&pd_rd_wg=NAjMB&pd_rd_i=B086MV694S&ref_=dbs_f_def_rwt_wigo_sps_r1_kmw_1&pd_rd_w=TotTr&pd_rd_r=768c9bd6-b556-4c4c-bbdc-a8ad5375c9f5>.
"James Bond 007" is a "6 Book Series" containing six of the /9/ James
Bond novels by Raymond Benson.

"James Bond - Extended" is a "3 Book Series" containing the three
/before/ the two specifically linked above.

Note that the books in "James Bond - Extended" are numbered "36, 37,
38". This would make hte one we started with "39" and "40". But on my
list, as complete as I can make it, there are 45.

/None/ of these are actual series. The one we started with has two
books by the same author, and one has 6 of the 9 books by a different
author, but the other has three books by three different authors.

Of course, /all/ the James Bond novels would be a fine collection, and
might be considered a kind of series if listed in publication order.
But not these bits and pieces.

The Heinlein Juveniles form a similar "series", being listed in order
of publication. Well, nine of them anyway (three aren't on Kindle).
But at least they are numbered correctly!

Dear me.

Looks as if Amazon set up an AI to arrange its "series," and its
AI isn't very I.
