Another Lighthouse without the direction given compulsion behind
action as unfolding drama. There's too much spread across Siberia's
script for a direction to remain in a similar focus with only a
lighthouse and two guys bouncing off round walls in a peculiar
fashion. Siberia depicts a montage of possibly twenty situational
events that affect Dafoe's understanding of his consciousness as a sum
total of life experiences. Bouncing along among them, there's a
particular scene where he seeks out a Black Magician, vaguely to
surmise, as much a sort of nonsense, about rationality being a base to
his belief. An untenable supposition largely without other than Dafoe
carrying the film by himself over various scenarios, experiences, no
supportive actor being near a stature of his focus given wholly to the
film: a distance between conjectures being generally equal to a
marginal cohesiveness incapable of conveying drama. Some no doubt
find of interest, lacking something dramatically tangible about a
deliberated intent to be indefinite. A life of living between the
parts. Dafoe never was one, though, to walk away for a buck.

I did bother to look up De-foe. Russian version of Willem for this
one.
