Forget a couple issues, what the f--- are they feeding the baby? They need to be fed and changed all the time. The mother splits to look for the idiot deaf girl, the deaf girl runs away to find someone, the guy is with the deaf girl the young brother is left alone with the baby which he puts an oxygen mask on and seals it in a container so the aliens won't hear it if it cries!!

It's a genre I very rarely watch but 'Alien' leaps droolingly to mind.
Also, I'm unsure if they've both been converted to movies, but John
Wyndhams Triffids & Kraken are both credible 'monsters'.

Oh, and I didn't say that the monsters in QP lacked credibility, they were
inconsistent(1) and poorly designed(2), but were acceptably credible. It

(2) I thought they had clearly been engineered by a higher life form as
some sort of planet-strength Robo People Cleaner, but killing people one at
a time by squashing them? Seriously? And why no vision? And if they killed
by sound then they would have just about killed the whole planet. Annnnnd
exposing their vulnerable bits to Ma's ol shottie doesn't look like award
