From 1956 to 1962, Yoko was married to a real composer, Toshi Ichiyanagi. After studying at Julliard, Ichiyanagi was employed as a transcriber by composer Stefan Wolpe.

Wolpe's wife, Hilda, noticed this about Toshi and Yoko: Toshi "appeared very meek and squashed down. When, during Thanksgiving dinner Yoko turned on [Toshi], he was visibly crushed."

Ichiyanagi had won prizes and the acclaim of his professors at Julliard -- and here he was being crushed by a no-talent poseur who wasn't even faithful to him! WTF? It's as if Yoko had a pimp's or a cult leader's knack for spotting victims.
