I am myself a bit wary about this but you might be interested to check out the piano recordings of these works by Kirschnereit and Schirmer. I was surprised to see not one but two recordings played on modern piano but they seem to have fun with it.

I like Kirschnereit a lot - thanks for that! Not really keen on Schirmer.

Of the organ versions I like Koopman probably most, then Tachezi. I'm sure there are other versions to hear. I'm enjoying these works - fresh change from Bach.

I have heard about 5 recordings of the organ concerti and Koopman and Tachezi are both favorites although I cannot claim to have made comparisons in detail.

Of the few sets I've heard I also like Koopman: lively performances on
an organ that can hold its own with the orchestra. (That is a real
problem on some performances which might be more "authentic", whatever
that means). Several past posters on rmcr recomended Chorzempa, in a
promising way; I picked up several volumes, but have not yet listened.

Given how excellent I find his box of the Mozart piano concertos, I'm
willing to wager that Kirschnereit is quite enjoyable.
