For the first time in a while, we didn't get a new Transformers toy line making its debut with the dawn of the new year. (I always look forward to the possibility that the new toys will trickle into stores in the final days of December, but obviously that just didn't happen this year.) Hasbro said pretty early on that Legacy most likely won't be ready to hit stores until March or April. It's such a let-down, but the more I think about it, the more I realize it's not even an isolated incident. This is quickly becoming the rule rather than the exception.

Masterpiece Skids was supposed to ship in November 2021, but he's been pushed back until July 2022.

Masterpiece Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp 2.0 all had release dates scheduled for last year, with two or three months between each release, but every one of them was delayed for several months, with Skywarp still waiting in the wings, as it were.

Recent Ninja Turtles Ultimates waves by Super7 are taking over a year to manufacture and ship. I ordered Wave 4 in October 2020, and it didn't ship until December 2021. Wave 5 went up for pre-order in March 2021, but I won't see them until April 2022—and that's only if they ship on schedule.

I'm still waiting for Ninja Turtles toys I ordered from the NECA Store that I paid for in April 2021 and which were supposed to ship in June 2021.

I mean, it was one thing with HasLab Unicron. I expected to wait a very long time for him, because of the challenges associated with producing and assembling and shipping such a large toy made up of so many parts. I was willing to be patient. But, now it's happening with practically everything I pre-order.

Granted, it may not be fair to lump together the Super7 toys in this complaint, since they're made-to-order, and they're a smaller company with fewer resources. But, the climate of collecting as a whole, at least as I perceive it, seems to have largely adopted a "pay now, wait forever" sales model and it's starting to seriously bug me. I can't be expected to exhibit Unicron-level patience with every single pre-order.

Are we ever going to go back to the way things were before? Or is this just how things are now?

Zob (What do we want? INSTANT GRATIFICATION! When do we want it? ANY TIME YOU'RE READY IS FINE, SRSLY)

I've seen MP Skywarp but everything has been messed up. We've seen some of the stuff showing up 3 months early, like the Classified BAT and Alley Viper, but other things really late or barely at all, like the wave with Kingdom Waspinator. We got the No Way Home Legends wave last week and everyone descended on us because the big boxes didn't have any to sell, but Costco probably has 800 Baby Yoda, and Target probably has 200+ Eternals figures nobody wants.

My other job has this problem but with printers. People are hoarding the $500 laser printers to sell for $900 on Amazon. The Best Buy I was auditing today had a total of 9 printers, and they were all the same printer that nobody wants because the manufacturer raised the price$100 over the last two years on the ugliest printer ever. Microsoft has been sold out of Surface keyboards for almost a year now, and has none to send other retailers. There are active products that show up once a year now that used to be advertised as always in stock. People line up in the morning to run in for graphics cards or wide-format printers (they used to camp out for days until the city said no tents and no generators)

The BST AXN Ninja Turtles disappeared from Target the week after Christmas and are going wild on the secondary market now, but the stores have all of the classics MOTU everywhere I go. That was a strange license. How does NECA always have to share their toy licenses with Jazwares and Lanard?
