BTW, AB has a remarkable good ear for violinists, as he has for pianos. The jury agreed with him on Metzler and the other one mentioned in a Montreal post.

she will never get there.......to compare her to Jensen is a severe insult.......excellent technique, but has a 'nanny goat' vibrato, phrasing is primitive. Jensen is a wonderful musican.............

Agreed, clearly the OP has no ears or sense of violin playing.

Besides, Janine Jansen is 45 years old now. She's in her prime.

There are several Dutch violinists (f) closely under Jansen's exalted level: Simone Lamsma and Rosanne Philippens come to mind.
Jansen however is one of a kind. Check out her live Brahms with Daniel Harding in Paris on youtube, if you will.

Yes, he was. Belgium and the Netherlands both had excellent violinists after the war. These days, the international competition is overwhelming.
