I know actors have appeared, left and then reappeared as another character - the most notable of late is Paul Telfer who originally appeared as one of Victor's henchmen and is now playing Xander - but it's going to be interesting to see how the show handles RSW being another character, especially one who is so connected to the show already. Will there be references to Alex looking like Ben or totally ignored? Will they be able to explain Alex's occasional Bahstahn accent? What happens if Victoria Konefal decides to return - will Ben be forgotten or will be paired up Alex?

I think they’re going to ignore his look because Sonny hasn’t said that Ben looked like Alex. I think many viewers don’t like RSW in the role of Alex because he has played Ben for so long, just like they don’t like Josh Taylor in the role of Roman and Judi Evans in the role of Bonnie.

Unless they do what they did with Brady and John and retcon her background.
They could always come back and say Bo wasn't really Ciara's father or
Victor wasn't really Bo's father. That's what they did with John so that
Brady could pair with Theresa.

Because they have chemistry together like Gabi and Stefan/Jake. Twins are fighting over Chanel, that storyline may go on so long. I read that Stephanie (played by Abigail Klein) will be on the main show after Beyond Salem so maybe she can be paired with Alex or Chad.
