It is ofc true that Herman has double standards and fails to see things objectively very often or in most cases, but the same can be said of you; you both show quite a few narcissistic traits btw... but as far as my experience goes, you seem more likeable and you have a better taste.

Imagine if Trump had said publicly that he was disappointed that 16/17yo girls would not perform nude in an opera... Oh, man, we can be sure... Gerard, Herman, the NBC, the NYT would all go crazy about this... but since it's Howie it's all fine ;)

I didn't get this idea from Herman... It's also not meant in a bad way. It just seems to me that you have a liking for asian women, while say Herman and I are more into caucasian women. How much your preference affects your evulations of performances I can't say and I don't really care... Now you don't need to explain to me that you also like other women besides asian women, I am just speaking of preference... I might be wrong.

I know, I'm not arguing what you think I am arguing...

We won't agree on HJ Lim - Dan, if she was "extraordinary", she would have never agreed to play with Norrington (I would think extraordinary musicians would realize what a crappy conductor he is... I mean his Mozart just sucks) and she would never have played Mozart that awfully... not even talking abotu her Bach or Beethoven... or Brahms... or Liszt...

I'll check out the other 3 names.

Sorry, but I don't notice them either ;D for different reasons than Herman I think. YES is the best of the ones you mentioned and that I heard, but she is no Schnabel or Richter or Pletnev or Volodos...

Dan... time for some _self-reflection_... think about what you tried to tell me about 90 yo Pressler's 595... and then look at the topics you created: 80yo Pressler, 90 yo Pressler, 94 yo Pressler etc...

I think it's wrong to grant them extra points for this; it only comes down to the music. Volodos does not seem to have big hands to me, certainly nowhere close to Liszt's hands... but he's probably moer flawless than Liszt haha...

I think the Schumann, at least DBT, is thoughtful when it needs to be thoughtful and extrovert when it needs to be extrovert. It’s one of the better DBTs. This guy McCawley is the real deal, he can make music.

I may even try his Haydn soon. There’s even some Chopin!

And another thing: good tone, well recorded. Insightful touch and phrasing too.

He’s someone who really should be in the big league but somehow missed the boat.

Forget McCawley. He is a mediocre pianist.

The top Haydn sonata sets are Ekaterina
Derzhavina's and Lubov Timoefeyeva's:

Most important: learn something
about piano performance, which
is a lot more than pressing keys
by the beats of a metronome.

You are applying again literary psycho babbling terms to
describe music. You really need to cut off the part of your
brain that stores such words.

"Better" compared to what? And by whose criteria?
Your throwing sand into our ears. You should keep
the sand inside your own ears/
