Where are you roughly in the world? How much of all this global warming is affecting you?

I'm in London, which is too hot for me in Summer these days when a heat wave strikes. Anything over 25 degrees is very uncomfortable. I don't have aircon so it's just fans all the time.

I put up with the Texas summer heat for 30 years. Not my cup of tea, but you make do. Some people thrive on it. Admittedly 110-115 degrees Farenheit is a bit much. You go from your air conditioned home to your air conditioned car to your air conditioned office and vice versa. Unless you are poor of, of course. Then you are seriously at risk. The average Dallas daily high temp from June to September, IIRC, is 96, or was when I moved there in 1983. Just missed the worst summer ever, 1980. The hottest it ever was in Dallas occurred twice - 1936 and 1995.

There are few places that don't have inconveniences. If not heat, then smog or earthquakes or landslides or fire or crime or a political environment you don't like. Even in perfect-weather San Diego where my uncle had a house overlooking the sea (actually in La Jolla),a couple of his neighbors house's tumbled into a ravine one day.

That said, there are many places that are preferable to live in than to visit. Dallas is one.

Almost every Israeli home has a solar water heating system (solar cells). Every rooftop is covered with "duds." There is a supplemental water heater (not sure if electricity or natural gas) in case the sun has not been available for a while. At my daughter's apartment (which I assume is typical), there is hot water available by 8 AM or so until hours after sunset. In our two week visit last fall, it was not necessary to use the supplemental system once.

It does help the climate problem, either way you dice it, by utilising the sun's power and not that generated by fossil fuels. Quite a few houses in Australia use solar power, but unsure about the percentage.
