Today's December 12, 2021 Peanuts Sunday rerun originally from December 15, 2021 finally gets rerun in newspapers and gocomics.com! Even though Beethoven's birthday is 4 days from now and says tomorrow. This strip - where Schroeder does a rant to Lucy about Beethoven as he refuses to get her anything for Beethoven's birthday - was skipped by United Media (now Andrews-McMeel) in the original 1974 Peanuts rerun cycle in 2000 in favor of a 1975 Peanuts Sunday and now sees the light of being rerun.

With the last few weeks of 1974 for Peanuts rerun strips, we will be in a few weeks the 1975 Peanuts rerun cycle which will include many 1975 strips that replaced in the past 1969 and 1971-1974 not suited for past years in the first cycle Peanuts strips during the 2000-2005 rerun cycles.

For the next 3 days we are getting the first taste of the 1975 Peanuts rerun cycle with the January 2, 1975 Peanuts strip ("The snow gods hate me!"), the rest of 1974 resumes Thursday to tie in with the rest of the Christmas strips (including Woodstock getting a bicycle for Christmas that should have been for Sally Brown's dollhouse set).

And today in newspapers and gocomics.com we officially start of the 1975 year of Peanuts strips on January 1, 2022 ("It can't be a new year already...I'm not finished with last year!" says Lucy about Charlie Brown's questions about plans for this new year). But one thing questions me: In mid June 1975 the Peanuts strips grew a little inch in size (starting with an arc where Charlie Brown goes to Summer Camp and gets a ticket to see Joe Shlabotnik as the new manager (who later gets fired) at a Waffletown Syrups baseball game, and at the same time Peppermint Patty and Marcie take part in the Powder Puff Derby airplane race using Snoopy's Sopwith Camel plane). How will papers still carrying the up to June 1975 Peanuts strip size (originally for the A papers while from 2000-2013 the B papers carried 1988-January 1, 2000 strips) adjust starting Summer 2022? If things go well, we could also see in 1975 reruns this 2022 the debut of Snoopy's brother from Needles, California named Spike. Also: Expcect to see many 1975 strips originally used as replacements for not suited for past rerun 1969-1974 Peanuts strips back in 2000-2005 be rerun again in this cycle.

> Today we have the first Peanuts Sunday 1975 for 2022: Originally run January 5, 1975 with a reference from that time kept intact: "New Year's was 5 days ago and that dog is still celebrating!"

As we continue 1975 Peanuts rerun strips: We are up to an arc where Snoopy becomes Peppermint Patty's watchdog and ends up using Peppermint Patty's waterbed that with the bouncing Snoopy doesn't catch the burglar who steals Peppermint Patty's TV set and furniture.

I even liked a 1975 strip from January 10, 2022 regarding Charlie Brown playing tennis: "The next time you serve take the balls out of the can!"

This is perhaps my least favorite Peanuts sequence. I found it a very
jarring and unwelcome intrusion on the world of the strip.

I meant December 15, 1974 - not December 15, 2021 for this 1974 Peanuts Beethoven's birthday strip!
