What if the US got seriously militarily involved in Indochina in 1954 like US President Dwight Eisenhower seriously considered during this time but ultimately backed away from? Let's say that Eisenhower actually decides to accept this idea in this scenario and thus decides to massively ramp up the US militarily commitment in Indochina following the Battle of Dien Bien Phu. Anyway, what happens afterwards? Could the US's military intervention in Indochina a decade earlier have turned out better than the real one did a decade later in real life? Any thoughts on this?

And just what effects would this actually have on the rest of the world?
