"Remember when people said we wouldn't notice that #Survivor is only 26 days instead of 39? I feel strongly that you can tell the difference especially for votes that take place over 24 hours (like the Dwight vote). It feels like votes are rushed and are therefore less strategic."

I'd say the sped up timeline is also impacting the edit. They need to either go back to 39 days or start with fewer people. Or have longer episode the entire season so they can do a better job explaining to us what actually happened.

Longer and more episodes, more days. Better for strategy but
also better for everything else including "unnecessary" things
like getting to know the players.

24 players would be too hard to follow. 24 episodes would be nice but I doubt CBS would want to spend the money. But if they did having the show on twice a week could lead to much better edits.
