Not everyone in Germany was a Nazi or a
Hitler supporter. The problem was there
were not enough of them to stop Hitler
and the Nazis from gaining power.

All over the world and across cultures
it takes only about 10%-15% of the total
population to intimidate the rest and to
terrorize them into submission. Such is
humankind.

My friend... this is a bit idealist... most of the Germans were in fact sympathetic to many ideals of the Nazis; you can't force millions of people to fight a war for you and risk their lives... it's common sense

During the war years and even in the first decades after the war years, noone doubted that most Germans were in part responsible for what happened and indeed sympathetic to Hitler... it's very much a myth that has been fabricated to hinder Germans from truly owning up.

Tell me... where did all those Germans who were anti-Hitler go? Did they join the polish reistance or sth?... There was no German resistance (Except for a few individuals) simply for the reason, that most Germans in the end were sympathetic to Hitler...

In Iran today it is different... there is a opposition inside and outside of Iran; but in Germany that was inexistent, not only because the Nazis suppressed any opposition, but because the Germans wilfully participated in it.

When the Nazis murdered Sophie and Hans Scholl the students were 'all' against them - most of the Germans just shared Nazi-Ideals.

That's bullshit... as said above; you can't force millions of people to fight wars over years for you... lol The Wehrmacht was bigger than the Nazi-Military-and-police-divisions if they wanted, a coup detat would've been easy. But they didn't. The Wehrmacht particiapted in lots of gruesome stuff... too much to list.

To think that the majority of the german population was not antisemitic... is quite naive, especially considering what happened...

The thing is

The way people talked at that time about Jews etc... it was just the way it was for the most part - especially after Hitler took over... it's just that most Germans wanted to forget what they believed, because what had happened was too horrible to confront...

Hitler did many great things for the Germans, and they loved him for that... no wonder they followed him into war... lol

Look how many antisemites are on this board compared to non-antisemites; Howard is silent (probably because he doesn't understand, and doesn'T want to do harm - but this only opens the door for evil)... he is neutral... that is not good (neutral Germans just looked on when Jews got harrassed)... and the rest (Except for maybe Oscar) is antisemitic here... and except for me ofc... you show some traits of antisemites - sorry to say.

Like; you’ve got this evil guy Amon Göth - as if you had to be absolutely evil to commit crimes…

That’s not it… the real scary thing is that supposedly ordinary people all took part in the crimes… people you would have never guessed to be evil…

I mean look at Schindlers Liste - it’s basically a German Bildungsroman. After years of wandering (nach seinen Lehr- und Wanderjahren) Schindler at the end finally gains some humanity… he used nazi policies to slave-drive and exploit Jews… and this evil gets more or less overlooked… this is what was the problem… not evil guys like Amon Göth, but ‚ordinary‘ people like Schindler

This movie suggests what the Germans love to hear: that only a few people were absolutely evil, and that they were responsible — and then the Germans identify themselves with Schindler - not even realizing how morally corrupt Schindler himself was.

The ending of the movie is pure kitsch… now the Germans can be happy again… knowing there ‚good‘ germans like Schindler who ended his career as a progenitor of thousands of Jews (after using every means to exploit them haha)
