No, sound does not have a weight. Probably.

From a friend:
"The two speeds are due to physical properties of CO2 at low pressures.
The pressure waves of high pitched sounds affect the CO2 molecules
differently than low frequency sounds. The effect had been predicted."

My response:
CO2 does have weird properties at low pressures. You do not even get a
liquid phase of CO2 until the pressure reaches about five times ambient
pressure, about 75 psia. Instead, CO2 goes directly from a vapor to a
solid (dry ice).

That article has an April 1st date; I am just a bit suspicious.

It looks legitimate to me. You're right to be wary, though.
Those Brits do go in for some serious smart-assery. One of
my favorites is this article from Nature:

It helps to know the works of Aldous Huxley to figure it out.

I'd read something about it earlier in the week.

You mean that's the one day of the year where you would lend any
credence to an article in the Daily Mail?

Amazingly enough, the article links to a source:
https://www.hou.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2022/pdf/1357.pdf

This appears to be from the 53rd Lunar and Planetary Science
Conference on March 7–11, 2022.

The BBC also reported on this a week earlier:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/60864047

"A frequency in science is the number of times that a sound wave is
produced within a particular period, especially within one second."

Oh boy.
