Also, several magazines (paper, subscriptions distributed through the
post office, sold in some book stores) contain novellas (5 of the 28
novellas in this years Locus Recommended reading list were published in
either F&SF or Asimov's).

Sic - it is correct in fact. I came here to say "not". ;-)

<http://giganotosaurus.org>
publishing for donations?

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giganotosaurus>
A critter.

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigantosaurus>
A different critter. Or several. It's complicated.
Cancel statement, it's a mess. And I do not think
that the other critter, that was dug up a lot later
incidentally, helps.

And anyone whose hot contracted author wants to
publish a novella? For full price probably, ka-ching!
I own several.

Does publishing these days go "ka-ching!"?
Real books are still sold in real shops, but around here,
it's usually by waving a hopefully virus-free card
at the contactless reader - card reader, not book reader,
but we are pretty contactless, too. Anyway, this at most
goes swish. Or clunk, accidentally (it's meant to be
contactless). Not ka-ching.
