Heh.

But the lack of a case system and verb conjugations is the removal of
_obvious_ complexity. That the _subtle_ complexity with which English
has replaced that may be even worse...

no, I won't argue that, as it may well be true.

And, you piqued my curiosity.

But a quick search has shown that, indeed, such a volume actually
exists, at least if you allow rounding up from 1,779 pages... and
adding in 12 pages of Roman-numbered front matter.

It was the first of those two that I had encountered. I saw
a volume with a title similar to the second, but not nearly
as long.
