Because, when Russia invades Ukraine, it is the Will of God that they
do so.

But, when Ukraine invades Russia, it is Holy Mother Russia that is
being invaded.

That's how it works:
Russia gets to invade whoever it wants to.
Nobody gets to invade Russia.

If nations attended Kindergarten, Russia would have failed.

It's not an uncommon attitude in nations, though. Just drone-strike one
Tallahassee wedding to eliminate a crypto-Pythagorian and see how the US
reacts.

My favourite of the other segments is "Son of the Invisible Man"
starring Ed Begley, who has recreated the fornula which made his
father both invisible and insane. He's only succeeded in one of these.

I enjoyed Iron Sky II. I don't watch many movies, so I got to see all of the plots of all of the SF movies rolled into one big ball.

I suspect that there is also some doubt now that Putin actually _could_
launch his nukes given the way his army and navy are doing in Ukraine.

You left out the doctrine that Ukraine is
just part of Russia that is farther away.

That type of delusion also isn't exclusively
Russian. Your King James Bible tells you
that Jimmy is King of France, as well as of
Britain and Ireland.

Monarchs rarely give up titles except to assume a better one, and often not then.

Having been kings of France once, arguably anyway, the British monarchy retained the title until about 1810 - about the same time that the Austrian emperor gave up the "Holy Roman Emperor" title. And of course the Byzantine emperors always remained "roman emperors".

Not that these titles in name only can't be harmful. When Henry VIII inherited, he made sure to tell his brother in law,
James IV that while he might be the king of Scotland, Henry was the overlord of the island, based on
some nonsense conceded by (IIRC) Balliol hundreds of years earlier. Henry had no intention of acting
on this, but James, a practical man, didn't see that so he joined with France when Henry launched his ridiculous
little war - and apparently left England undefended. So ten thousand or so people died, including James himself.

Clinging to past glories isn't all bad. Just think of how many pen names John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris was able to mine from his family's salad days.

They vary. Some are liquid fueled, some use both in different stages.
One, the RT-2PM2 Topol-M, has 3 solid stages.

I went and took a look at the movie.
It is at https://archive.org/details/Nude.on.the.Moon.1961.AVI1Gb

It is terrible. It has some somewhat attractive topless women, but that
is the only thing that is remotely worth watching. And it is remote.

No, I didn't watch the whole thing. There is only so much "awful" I can
take in one sitting.

My condolences. I had the same sad experience you did ... although
perhaps seeing it as I did in a theater at a film festival, where lots
of people could jeer it, made it slightly more bearable.

I still think, though, that the scenes I described, could be prime
examples in a Textbook of Inept Filmmaking. The one where he has to
find his assistant on the beach would be for the chapter on Inept
Plotting, and the other two are for the chapter on Inept Visuals.

And it is on the list of Worst Movies, after all! But no, it's
definitely not So Bad It's Good, like Plan 9 From Outer Space. Nor is
it almost watchable, like my own favorite bad SF movie, Teenagers from
Outer Space.

No no - it's "Victory Day" which in western terms would be V-E day but
celebrated on May 9 instead of May 8 like the rest of us.

It's been a huge Soviet day ever since 1945.

Rather ironically since his idol Stalin enthusiastically (especially
enthusiastically since he made the Spanish Republicans send their gold
reserves to Russia to "pay" for these "volunteers") sent arms - and
men - to Spain 1936-39.....and Italian "volunteers" shelled Royal Navy
ships patrolling more than 3 miles offshore....

I have watched some late night TV movies that I didn't bother to finish, like "Tammy and the T Rex" - the boyfriend's brain is used as part of a reconstructed dinosaur - and one where the monster is a killer fog - the special effects consist of the screen turning grey.

There was, however, a tabletop RPG with the same title. I never
played it, but reading the manual was a hoot. The "races" to
which the player characters could be assigned were Human,
Near-Human, Not-So-Near-Human, and Real Weirdies. I fed my son
some ideas for his Lovecraft-themed scenario, which featured an
additional category, Real Oldies. He reported that the players
disregarded the scenario and went their own ways--which happened
a lot with TFOS.

Stalin really pushed the generals to complete the occupation of Berlin by
May Day, but they missed. Similar tactics to what we see today in Ukraine;
indiscriminate destruction, looting, murder and rape of civilians.

Right now, the Russians seem to be trying to kill everyone in the Mariupol
steel plant by May 9, to give Putin a 'victory' to boast of that day. It's a bit
scaled down from annexing all of Ukraine, presumably the original plan.
